How does reverse osmosis work?

Why should I install a reverse osmosis water filter?

Although RO membrane can filter out most of the contaminants, chlorine can easily damage it and shorten its lifespan.

3. RO membrane

Reverse osmosis membranes filter almost 99% of impurities in the water (including calcareous, heavy metals, bacteria...) to make the water reach the standard of drinking water. The service life is about one to two years, depending on the amount of water used and the number of households. 

4. Polishing filter

The last filter in reverse osmosis system is polishing filter. Its composition is usually activated carbon. Its main function is to eliminate odor and make your drinking water taste better. 

Pre-filters (sediment/carbon filters) should be chaged about 6-12 months, while reverse osmosis membrane can last for 2 to 3 years, and post filters (carbon filter) last for about 12 month.
